I like the idea that metadata can be gathered via an ISBN, but that requires renaming files (and subsequently losing the ability to find what you want by browsing the filesystem.

Alternatively I see that you can organize by author and title yourself, but then I don't understand what value this provides that browsing the file system and opening with a default viewer wouldn't.
