The local police in my area have a system for people to share videos. According to local news it is a request only type system where the police request it and the individual has a choice to share or not. The local police really hammered that request point home, I assume they're somewhat aware that people will not participate if they don't get to make the choice themselves.
That's cool that they're aware of and receptive to public opinion.
